Asiatic Lily (Lilium) is one of the most popular cut flower plants. They look beautiful on flower beds, in groups on lawns and even at water reservoirs. This variety grows up to 100 cm in height.
They grow best in sunny or semi-shaded positions, on well-drained soil with a lot of nutrients. You should think over the place you choose, because lilies do not like frequent transplanting - they bloom best if left in the same place for several years.
Lily bulbs are planted in the fall (from September to the end of November) or in the spring (April-May). You can overdo it in the event of excessive density, because they will not have enough space to bloom less. You can also plant them in containers and transfer them to balconies and terraces during flowering.
After flowering faded inflorescences should be removed, leaving the stem with leaves as long as possible until it dries completely on its own. Several times a season, the lilies should be fertilized with a compound fertilizer and watered as needed.
It is a frost-resistant plant which should stay in the same place for several years.
