Basalt meal - 8 kg
Description
Basalt meal is a product of natural origin, which is produced by grinding basalt rock. Due to its natural origin, it can be successfully used in organic farming.
Basalt meal in its composition contains a number of necessary macro- and microelements needed by plants for life. The most important compounds of basalt are silicon oxide, i.e. so called silica (about 50%), aluminium oxide (about 20%) and iron oxide (5-10%). In addition, basalt contains many valuable macro- and microelements (magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, manganese, titanium, phosphorus, sulphur, boron, chromium, copper, zinc, molybdenum, cobalt and iodine. Basalt meal has an alkaline reaction (pH above 7).
Basalt meal is extremely helpful in fertilizing heavily depleted and infertile soils. It perfectly complements organic fertilisers (e.g. manure, biohumus or compost) and accelerates the composting process. Basalt meal is an excellent way to get rid of many pests (especially aphids) and slugs. It also helps to reduce the development of plant diseases. The product is non-toxic to plants and safe for humans (no withdrawal period). Basalt meal is also ideal for dressing seeds and bulbs. Used during transplanting it is an excellent starter fertilizer. Basalt meal is also worth using for sandblasting the lawn (the treatment is recommended on heavy and impermeable soils).
