Camellia Bicolour Begonia is a beautiful flowering plant with heart-shaped leaves, growing up to about 20-30 cm in height. It blooms for a long time - from June until the first frost, and its flowers resemble small roses. The Camellia variety blooms in a lovely pink color with hints of white at the edges of the petals. They are perfect for a garden, balcony or terrace decoration.
It grows best in semi-shaded positions, and doesn't like strong sun. When planting in pots, remember that the chosen place should be warm and bright. Begonias require a slightly acidic, humus soil.
So that Begonias bloom faster they can be planted indoors in pots or containers. It should be remembered that when planting, the tubers should face the concave side up, convex at the bottom. Planting into the ground should be carried out in the second half of May as these plants do not tolerate low temperatures.
With care treatments you should be especially careful due to the fragility of the plant. They require systematic watering, but so that they are not flooded, because they rot easily (when planting in pots, it is worth ensuring an appropriate layer of drainage and excess water drainage), do not pour over the leaves.
It is best to provide the nutrients to begonias in spring, for example with a compound fertilizer. To prevent diseases to which begonias are exposed, e.g. powdery mildew, which attacks at high humidity and dense planting of these plants, prophylactic spraying with a natural plant protection agent (e.g. Biosept Active based on grapefruit extract).
For storage bulbs should be dug up before the first frosts and kept in a warm room at about 8 ° C covered with sand or sawdust.
