Boxwood Moth Trap Protect Garden
Description
FEROMONE TRAP for boxwood moth attracts and captures adult male boxwood moths. The trap is designed to accurately monitor the presence of the pest. If moths are caught in the trap, a suitable plant protection product (for example Deltam AL) can be applied after about a week.
The trap is highly selective and does not attract or catch other insects. It poses no threat to beneficial insects and birds. The trap can be used repeatedly in subsequent gardening seasons using the complementary FEROMONE TRAP FOR BUSINESS Moth.
The package includes 1 reusable trap and two pheromone syringes. When assembling the trap, the dispensing containers should be filled with the contents of one syringe. The pheromones in the upper dispenser attract boxwood moth adults from a 180 m² area. The pheromones in the lower dispenser cause the moths to enter the trap through the funnel and cannot escape back outside.
The trap should be monitored and insects should be removed from it 2 x per week.
After about 3 months, refill the pheromone gel containers using the second syringe included in the package.
The boxwood moth is active from early spring until November. Its life cycle is about 45 days. There may be 3 or more generations per year. If the shrubs are infested by the first generation of caterpillars from the previous year already in March, they should be treated with a suitable plant protection product.
