Coconut fiber block
Description
Coir block is a 100% organic product made without any chemical additives. The fiber has been dehydrated and pressed so that it takes up as little space as possible. To restore its volume, it is enough to add water to such a block - the rehydration process will take place and it will increase its volume by about five times.
Advantages of the coconut fiber substrate:
- Retains moisture for a long time - coconut substrate has excellent absorbency, so it does not need to be watered as often as plants growing in ordinary soil. Its physical structure ensures excellent absorption and water holding capacity.
- Mold resistant - despite the ability to retain moisture, it is completely resistant to this fungus.
- Does not clump - provides the roots with air, allowing them to grow freely.
- Perfect additive - mixed with other potting mixes improves the properties of the substrate - perfectly loosens heavy clay soil.
- pH approx. 5.5 to 6.5 (slightly acidic) - can be easily controlled by watering with the appropriate pH .
- No contamination - this medium does not contain any debris, seeds, weeds, parasites and bacteria, it is completely sterile.
- Completely neutral - thanks to the lack of nutrients, the fertilizer can be appropriately selected for the needs of the crop.
- Long time of use - used for example for seedlings after the end of cultivation, they can be reused for the next one. However, if it ceases to be useful on its own, you can mix it with the soil in the garden to improve its properties.
- 100% natural and ecological - this fiber is produced by separating it from the peel of coconut trees
- Biodegradable - as a fully natural substrate it is biodegradable, making it safe for the environment.
Application
Coconut fiber is a substrate with many valuable properties suitable for the cultivation of various plant species. Among other things, it is ideally used as:
- substrate for seedling, sowing, quilting or transplanting
- substrate for orchids and other exotic plants - has a positive effect on root growth
- substrate for growing plants that like high humidity
- addition to other potting mix
Usage
Put a block of coir in the container and pour about three liters of water. Wait a moment for the fiber to absorb the water and increase its volume to about 7 liters, then you can plant the plants. They can be used on their own or mixed with another base, depending on the needs.
Block weight: 578 g
