Striped Squill (Puschkinia) is a plant from the asparagus family growing up to 20 cm with bright bell-shaped flowers. It looks great in rock gardens, it is also often planted under low shrubs or on the lawn.
It grows best on light, well-drained soil - they do not tolerate wet places. In order to prevent the bulbs from getting wet, on heavy soils you can plant the bulb in a hole by placing it in itsand or gravel drainage. Pushkin prefers semi-shaded and sunny positions, but it will also bloom in shade. It is an undemanding plant, but care should be taken to keep the soil moist. It also requires weeding the place around.
After flowering the bulbs can be left in the same place for several years or dug up at the end of July and stored until next season in a dry, cool place at a temperature not exceeding 20ºC.
