Dipleaf onion (Scilla Bifolia)is a low bulb perennial, blooming in early spring, beautifully presented in flower beds. They look most beautiful when planted in groups. They can be combined with other varieties of onion or with completely different types of plants, it is important to pay attention to whether they have similar requirements for the position and type of substrate.
Bulbs grow bestin slightly shaded positions under trees or shrubs, on well-drained, humus-rich and fertile soil. In spring, keep the substrate moist. These plants are quite easy to grow and their requirements mainly concern the soil.
It is a frost-resistant plant,but when the winter is harsh and snowless, it can freeze, so it is worth covering it gently. In the event of long-term drought, the plants should be watered so that they have a constantly moist soil. You should also take care of regular weeding. For the winter, flower beds should be covered with a layer of mulch - made of bark, leaves or straw.
After flowering the bulbs can be left in the same place for several years or dug up at the end of July and stored until next season in a dry cool place.
